The Great Pumpkin… after Halloween

Posted by – November 29, 2008

The official beginning of the Christmas season for my family is when we throw away the pumpkin we bought for Halloween and for the whole month of November through Thanksgiving. The pumpkin has sat outside through several overnight freezes that happened during November. We didn’t carve it for halloween and I wouldn’t dare split it open since it is over a month old. Though I imagine the cold overnight temperatures kept it fairly well preserved through the month.

Veteran’s Day Parade

Posted by – November 8, 2008

The Veteran’s Day Parade was today in Hopkinsville. Readers should know that I was standing on Virginia street but the majority of the crowd was on ninth street around the corner. Just in case you wonder why the streets seem to be so deserted. Enjoy.
