Book of Ruth broadcast on TBN

Posted by – May 24, 2009

Since January there’s been a steady interest surrounding the Book of Ruth movie starring Sherry Morris as Ruth. Even though the movie is obviously a low budget operation I expect movie producers to understand this thing called the Internet. This is especially true for independent movies with little or no advertising budget. Someone registered an account on youtube to post the one and only trailer and never logged in again. Actor/movie crew interviews would have done a lot to whip up some viral marketing.

Despite the producers’ lack of marketing talent, I have discovered that TBN will be broadcasting the movie on TV.

Program Schedule:
Special show times:
Sun 6/21
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Note: All times are Pacific Time. All programs are subject to change without notice.

There you go… June 21st on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Comments are welcome since I haven’t yet found any discussion about this movie elsewhere.

Public Service

Spring has arrived and with it comes better weather for outside work. The ice storm of 2009 occurred two months ago yet the clean up is only just beginning. This past weekend I traveled to Princeton, KY to help clean up a horse pasture filled with dead wood.

Then we have the results of about four hours work among 8 or 9 people.

The pasture wasn’t completely clean but it is good enough that the field is usable again.

Stooges in History

While visiting Iraq during the final weeks of his presidency, George W. Bush was attacked by an Iraqi journalist throwing his shoes during a press conference. I know you have all seen the public video of what happened. However, I have a recently discovered image that reveals stunning new information about the man’s true purpose.

Teenagers hold-up Dollar Store

Posted by – December 13, 2008

Three female teenagers walked into a Dollar Store in Ohio and tried to rob it. They were refused when store employees said they couldn’t get into the safe. The teenagers left empty handed and were arrested about a mile away.

When a manager claimed that she could not open the store safe, the alleged robbers–Jocelyn Addison, 19; Nia McBrayer, 21; and Jenniffer Watson, 18–departed empty-handed. Though the downloaded list was clearly written tongue-in-cheek, the suspects, who had masks, a plan, and a bb gun, apparently followed some of its suggestions.

You can read the instructions they used at listentome.net. I’m of the opinion when teenagers do stupid stunts like this they should spend a night in real prison, share space with other prisoners. I wouldn’t let it go so far as let the kids get hurt while their inside the prison but I think they ought to have a personal experience.

The Great Pumpkin… after Halloween

Posted by – November 29, 2008

The official beginning of the Christmas season for my family is when we throw away the pumpkin we bought for Halloween and for the whole month of November through Thanksgiving. The pumpkin has sat outside through several overnight freezes that happened during November. We didn’t carve it for halloween and I wouldn’t dare split it open since it is over a month old. Though I imagine the cold overnight temperatures kept it fairly well preserved through the month.

Sarah Palin for the Win

Posted by – October 28, 2008

All the polling numbers you see Obama vs. McCain are misleading. They are all asking the wrong question. The actual election this year is Obama vs. Palin and I can prove it. Sarah Palin is Blue. B. Hussein Obama is Red. John McCain is yellow. Using Google Trends you can graph the popularity of arbitrary keywords.

As you can see Sarah Palin has consistently been flying in the stratosphere since she was picked as McCain’s VP. While McCain and Obama battle it out at the ground level. Interestingly, the MSM’s bias is also visible here because while she holds the number one position in search volume. She is the least mentioned in news volume. I’ll make a prediction that if McCain wins it’ll only be because Palin is on the ticket. Without her, the conservative base would stay home.

The latest news about the lawsuits in Missouri comes from August when National Dealers Warranty Inc was forced to change the way they do business and pay almost $30,000 in fines.

A St. Louis-area business that sent misleading postcards and letters to consumers informing them that they had limited time to purchase renewed, extended warranties for their vehicles will pay $29,955 to consumers and the state, and make fundamental changes in the way it operates. Attorney General Jay Nixon had sued National Dealers Warranty Inc. and five other businesses in March as part of “Operation Taken for a Ride”, a crackdown on fraudulent solicitations for motor vehicle extended service contracts (MVESCs). Lawsuits against five other businesses that were sued as part of Operation Taken for a Ride are still pending.

For the record, the five businesses being sued under Operation Taken for a Ride are… *Drum roll*
