It has been long overdue to replace that old clunker computer. I think Mom is much happier with my old laptop.

I have a computer of Win-98 vintage on which I'm getting ready to update the Linux so I can use it for internet browsing from the LR. It's a Gateway, from the days when that name meant a lot more than it does now!

Right now, I lay the Archos 5 on the pulpit and it records everything around that area. It's not connected to the sound system at all.

The new mixer has a headphone jack that is meant for monitoring the mixer live. My plan is to record from that headphone jack. The mixer has three connected microphones. I expect to get much better sound compared to what I'm doing now.

I don't plan on using both recorders. The Zoom recorder has a much better external mic.

Looks like a cool little gadget. I'm curious about how you're recording the sermons. Are you using this as the speaker's mic input to the mixer and PA sound system? Are you then recording on the portable unit as well as from the mixer board?

[...] April commented earlier on the blog You say limited and I say where do we draw the line? I am sure people years ago panicked over the thought of a public school system. Or Public roads, fire departments, police departments etc. I am sure they panicked the same way they are now over the health care situation. Now though, we wouldn’t know what to do without those institutions. Why will a Public option health care be so much different? [...]

<blockquote>"The whole point is to take the control out of the hands of the private insurance companies and attempt to make it easier for people like me to afford medical care when they need it. Is that really such a bad thing?"</blockquote>
Yes, it really is that bad. Without entrepreneurship of businesses large and small there would be no new wealth created, no new technology, and no advancement toward a better tommorrow.

There is a reason why socialist governments always fail. Socialism provides no incentive for people to work harder. If the product of my labor doesn't belong to me then why should I ever work to improve the product I create.

I have looked at the links you provided. And I have done a lot of research on the subject from all the different viewpoints. I can provide links for the positive as well http://www.huffingtonpost.com/zack-cooper/english-healthcare-in-the_b_259966.html

The point is all sides need to be looked at. The French have a government controlled health care system and the average life expectancy there is at least 3 years more than here in the US.

I am aware that conservatism does not mean no government at all. You say limited and I say where do we draw the line? I am sure people years ago panicked over the thought of a public school system. Or Public roads, fire departments, police departments etc. I am sure they panicked the same way they are now over the health care situation. I am a middle class citizen of this country living well within my means. I can not afford insurance. And my employer does not provide it. I avoid the doctor because I can not afford to go. And my story reflects many other people around this country.

The plan Obama is offering is not to destabilize things and take over our living bodies as you said earlier. The whole point is to take the control out of the hands of the private insurance companies and attempt to make it easier for people like me to afford medical care when they need it. Is that really such a bad thing?

Conservatism does not mean no government at all. A healthy government has a limited defined role because government only grows at the expense of freedom. You would be best served to read the links I provided previously.
