Here’s video of two speeches Bill Streets and Dr. John McCubbin.

ATT’s ‘sweet heart deal’
The postmortem following the city’s decision to drop it’s lawsuit against AT&T reads in part:
KEMP AND REGAN SIGNED THE AGREEMENT FOLLOWING THE SPECIAL MEETING WITH ATTORNEY DOUG WILLEN PREPARED TO FILE DISMISSAL PAPERS IN FEDERAL COURT TODAY (TUESDAY). MEANWHILE, NEWWAVE PRESIDENT AND CEO, JIM GLEASON TOLD THE NEWS EDGE HE HAS NOT HAD A CHANCE TO THOROUGHLY INSPECT THE AGREEMENT, BUT HE IS STILL CONFUSED AS TO WHY AT&T REFUSES TO MAKE THE SAME COMMITMENT TO HOPKINSVILLE THAT NEWWAVE MADE. HE ADDED THAT THE COMPANY WILL BE TALKING WITH LEGAL COUNCIL TODAY (TUESDAY) TO DISCUSS ITS PENDING LAWSUIT.
The next day Mr. Gleason was still steamed enough to say that AT&T got a “sweet heart deal”.
On a different segment of The Scene, Mary Pat Regan says the roll out for U-verse will be complete sometime during the summer.
Will KY Leadership Lead?
Kentucky has borrowed nearly $474 million from the federal government to pay unemployment benefits this year and the total will likely reach $1 billion before the state’s economy improves.
A Billion dollars is a lot of money for the average Kentuckian. It all becomes play money in the halls of Frankfort, though.
Union leaders want the task force to recommend increasing the unemployment tax for employers. Business leaders prefer a wait-and-see approach on any tax increase and perhaps a reduction in benefits.
With a Democratic governor, I couldn’t guess who is going to win this struggle.
Currently, the state pays out 79 weeks of benefits, although Beshear announced Tuesday the state is working to quickly implement a new federal law that allows 20 additional weeks of payments to those who have already exhausted their benefits. In addition, Beshear recently signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor to temporarily increase the weekly payout by $25.
Sigh… Why do I bother depositing my check at all? The Democrats might lose the next election cycle but does that mean anyone learned why we have the problems we do?
Unfortunately, I think Kentucky is headed toward higher taxes and a very poor job environment. Both of which advance President Obama’s goals of putting more people on welfare. I would say Kentucky needs to learn from California’s experience and not go down that road but those Democrats know exactly what they are doing. The whole country is being methodically bankrupted by our own leaders for a very specific purpose.
It’s so bad in California that even the State Treasurer has come out and spoken the obvious.
Kentucky voters need to listen up. Your elected leaders aren’t stupid they do what they do deliberately.
Kroger Gasoline
My earlier suspicions have been proven correct. Seeing such a massive drop in gas mileage had to mean something more than fuel was in the tank. On WKAG, Eddie Owen reported that water and clay dirt were contaminants in the gasoline.
For sure, I’ll be taking my vehicle to the repair shop for an inspection. From the newscast, at least six people have had their cars severely damaged because of all that cr@p in the fuel.
Here There be Big Foot

Fairdale Bigfoot
A man living in Fairdale, KY was determined to stop whatever was causing damage to his corn rows. He got more than he bargained for though when he setup a hunting camera to capture movement in his backyard. What he captured was the image of a black hairy creature sitting in the field.
I have family that lives in Louisville. Their reaction to it was relief that they had never met with it face-to-face. They just don’t know how cool it would be to catch some good video of it. It would be a sure fire way to get on the teevee.
Video of the newscast is below. Given all the damage that this creature did I would expect evidence like hair and footprints. Even better if Discovery Channel includes this in their next Big Foot investigation.

Religion of Peace
I saw this video via Jihad Watch. I watched it and thought it brought a human face to Muslim honor killings. The Islamic religion calls for muslims to kill anyone who dares convert away from Islam. Most often family members will murder their own to satisfy this requirement. The force of Rifqa’s emotions in the video touched me.
Political correctness is an evil thing in this world. I believe fear of offending Muslims is not a valid excuse to silence negative commentary against Islam. In the name of political correctness, many people fail to call out evil for what it is.
In Florence Things go BOOM!
Residents in Florence, Kentucky had one of those moments where life was continuing as normal then a random event happens. An event so unusual that it causes time to pause and consider what just occurred.
“All of sudden out of nowhere, we just had this big boom and explosion and I saw it across the street the house and it looked like just like an explosion right in the middle of the bottom of the house and it just blew out the whole entire bottom half of the house,” said Michael Toner.
In another story, a young boy gives his description of what happened.
“It kind of looked fake. It was better than a movie — our car went off the ground and it was pretty sweet, but crazy at the same time,” said witness Gage Schultz.
The first story from WHAS-TV mentioned that the explosion was caught on video by a security camera across the street. I found the video posted on AOL.
BOOM!
Free Healthcare is not Free
“The United States is the only civilized country that does not have ‘free’ healthcare!” –Jane Doe
This statement was spoken today by a woman dealing with some potentially serious medical problems. She was concerned about the high cost of medical testing. Not to mention the medical bills to come later if she actually undergoes treatment. I feel for her situation, unfortunately, Jane Doe’s statement above shows a devastating lack of knowledge. I am not aware of any country in the world that provides “free” medical care. Jane might be referring to Canada and Euroland countries that provide a government run medical system. She’s not referring to those countries because they all send their patients to the US when their system fails to meet demand.
Because Canada does not have the capacity to deal with the demand for neo-natal intensive care for premature births, the single-payer system sent the critically ill child to the United States for treatment. [...]
But why wasn’t there a NICU bed for the child in the entire nation of Canada? The government of Canada won’t pay for more. They don’t exist to expand supply to meet demand; their single-payer system exists to ration care as a cost-saving mechanism. In a free-market system, supply expands to meet demand, which is why Canada could subcontract out to a US hospital for capacity. Michael writes that paragraph as if it was mere luck that an NICU bed happened to be open in the US, but that’s a function of the system, and not luck.
If there was any country in the world that could provide actual gratis medical care surely they would not soil themselves to receive our capitalist medicine.
Another explanation for Jane’s misunderstanding is that she fails to consider the extreme level of payroll deductions that every employee pays with no thought whatsoever. The story would be different if every employee were allowed to keep all of their money and had to pay it quarterly like a business. It seems though that Jane won’t see the true cost of “free” healthcare because her money will be stolen from her before she ever sees it.
Finally, Jane Doe’s last complaint about American healthcare was the two week waiting period before she could have her testing done. Click to see embedded video… More…
